Saturday 4th March, 2017
Dr Michaela Edwards uses ideas from Donald Winnicott, Paediatrician and Psychoanalyst, to present a critique of Wellbeing initiatives offered by schools in particular and large organisations generally. The central concern is a question of whether the wellbeing policies of large organisations actually come to undermine the very people that they are designed to support.
Dr Michaela Edwards, Lecturer in Organisation and Wellbeing Lancaster University and Director and Trustee of Lancashire MIND will present her study which is based on an ethnographic study in an academy school. We expect that this will be of interest to anyone working in the NHS, Schools or Social Services.
The presentation will be followed by a conversation with a member of Squiggle NE.
After a refreshment break, there will be plenty of time for discussion.
The Squiggle Foundation is devoted to promoting, studying and developing the work of Donald Winnicott, whose ideas have influenced psychiatrists, psychotherapists, social workers, teachers, general practitioners, child psychologists, nurses, paediatricians, counsellors and parents. http://squiggle-foundation.org/
